As with all languages, ASL skills develop over time and that time frame varies from person to person. To improve your ASL skills, a combination of formal instruction, diagnostic assessment to identify specific strengths and areas needing improvement, and interaction with proficient users of the language in a variety of communicative contexts is needed.
