Agency and Leadership Seminar
PST 642 Agency and Leadership Seminar (3 credits) is an intensive seminar designed to cover five major areas in the non-profit sector for deaf and hard-of-hearing services in the USA. The five areas are: non-profit history, management, finances, board governance, and assessment/evaluation. This seminar will provide opportunities for engaged interactions and presentations by nationally recognized professionals from the non-profit sector and advocacy organizations that demonstrate, advocate, and represent multiculturalism and diversity. Hands-on activities will be incorporated throughout all seminar topics and each participant will develop a strategic plan (Capstone Paper) for their unique situation. Each agency participant will provide a progress report on implementation of their strategic plans at 6 months intervals covering a period of one year. All sessions will be conducted in American Sign Language.
