KDES Students Honor Red Ribbon Week
This year's Red Ribbon Week theme is "Planting the Promise." KDES will kick off the week with a rally on Tuesday, October 27. Students can show their spirit by participating in Backwards Day, representing "Turn Your Back on Drugs."
On Wednesday, October 28, students will honor Enrique Camerena, a marine and police officer who fought the drug industry, and show their spirit by participating in Dress Tie or Bowtie Day, or "Tie Down Drugs."
On Thursday, October 29, pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students will plant tulip seeds as their promise to be drug and alcohol free. Students in grades one and two will take part in a drug awareness activity as well as in Planting the Promise. Students in grades three through eight will take part in a Scavenger Hunt and a “Numb Hands” activity as well as in Planting the Promise.
