International Week of the Deaf

Also known as Deaf Awareness Week, the last full week of September (September 18-24, 2011) is dedicated to the celebration of the cultures and languages of deaf people around the world. Many organizations, schools, and companies will host awareness events and activities. The week was established and is promoted by both the World Federation of the Deaf and the National Association of the Deaf in the United States.
