Are you a budding restaurateur?
Gallaudet University is considering offering two two-week courses this summer to introduce culinary skills and business practices in the food industry.
The first course is for those looking to get into the food industry but who lack the basic knowledge from a culinary perspective. It is called "Introduction to Basic Culinary Skills and Sustainability Practices in the Food Industry" and will be held from July 8 through 17, Monday through Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The second course is for those who have completed the first seminar or have some experience in the industry and are looking to start their own food-related business. It is called "Food Safety and Business Basics of the Food Industry" and will be from July 22 through August 2, Monday through Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. This second course will also prepare students for the Servsafe Food Safety Exam and cover the exam fees.
The classes are being offered for $50 each. If we receive enough interest, we will set up the classes.
