Black History Month presentation: Cory Parker

National Black Deaf Advocates Vice President Cory Parker will share his life experiences as a black deaf man in his presentation, "Change: Adapting, Embracing and Evolving."
Parker, a graduate of Northern Illinois University with a bachelors in communicative disorders with an emphasis on deafness rehabilitation, was born and raised in the Chicago area and is from a deaf family. His employment experiences focus on issues regarding mental health and deafness, vocational rehabilitation service delivery, and well-being service to persons who are deaf. Parker has been a deaf services specialist with the State of North Carolina Division of Services to Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Asheville Regional Center for over eight years and he has been working on community leadership with National Black Deaf Advocates for the past 13 years--currently serving as vice president.
