Eid al-Adha
Date and Time:
14 October 2013
Description:
Considered one of the two most important Islamic festivals (the other being Eid al-Fitr, the conclusion of Ramadan), Eid al-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, concludes the three days of Hajj, the annual pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca. The pilgrimage is usually a once-in-a-lifetime journey for Muslims world-wide and the holiday is celebrated even by those who are not undertaking the Hajj.
