Ways to Give to Gallaudet
There are many ways to make a gift. Some methods require a fair amount of planning, such as planned gifts—bequests, estates, and life insurance. There are also simple and quick ways to make a gift, such as online giving, payroll deduction and electronic fund transfers.
Online Giving
Visit our secure online giving site to make your gift. You can choose which funds you want to contribute to.
Outright gifts
The most simple and frequently used method of giving. Pay by personal check, currency, money order, bank draft, or credit card. Note: Sending cash through the mail is not recommended.
Checks
The Development Office accepts checks as donations made payable to Gallaudet University. They can be mailed to:

EFT (electronic funds transfer) program
By joining Gallaudet's monthly giving program, your donation can be automatically deducted from your bank account on a bi-weekly or monthly basis. Each deduction made will be reflected on your bank statement. If you are interested, please contact the Matthew Sickon for the enrollment form.
Gifts of stock
Another way you can give to Gallaudet is a gift of stock. By doing this, you will be eligible to benefit from tax deductions on the capital gains. In order for Gallaudet to accept a gift of stock, it must be made through a broker; the broker must contact Merrill Lynch and inform them to transfer the shares to Gallaudet University. Matching gifts
Your gift may be doubled—or increased even more—if you work for a company with a matching gift program. Spouse and retiree gifts may also be matched. Please ask your employer for details.
Payroll deduction
Many companies and businesses offer their employees the opportunity to support their organization of choice through payroll deductions. Please check with your employer's Human Resources or Payroll Office to see if this option is available to you.
Pledge
Gallaudet gratefully accepts pledges; however, a pledge to make a gift may not be deducted for tax purposes until the year in which the actual payment is made.
Wills/bequests
A gift through your will can provide significant support to Gallaudet and may benefit your estate at the same time. Any assets, including cash, securities, and real estate may be transferred to Gallaudet through a bequest made by a will or a trust.
