Local Rotary officials meet with grateful scholarship recipients

The 12 Gallaudet students who received scholarships for the 2011-2012 academic year from Rotary District 7620 pose with District Governor Claude Morissette (second row, left), Scholarship Committee chair Pat Kasuda (front row, right), and Rotary officials Don Walter (second row, right) and Charlie Garlow (second row, second from right) on September 27 at Rotary Day 2011.
The annual event, held in Peikoff Alumni House, is a luncheon program where Rotarians from the district award scholarships and meet the recipients. Since 1974, District 7620, which includes Rotary clubs in central Maryland and Washington, D.C., have provided scholarships that have helped more than 250 students earn degrees at Gallaudet.
Also attending the luncheon were President Hurwitz (second row, second from left) and special guest Mario Jaramillo, Rotarian and ambassador of the Republic of Panama (front row, left).
