Mandy Buzzelli is a graduate of the ID Program at Gallaudet. Her undergraduate studies focused on Spanish and Education.
While studying abroad, Mandy worked with deaf schools in Guatemala and Chile where she developed a desire to live in Latin America and advocate with deaf communities. Mandy completed a practicum with the Organization of American States (OAS) and recently completed an internship with a Deaf school in Nicaragua. Part of her final project was creating a video of the youth to inform people about their school. After her experience in Nicaragua, Mandy understood that she could better serve the Deaf community if she learned how to interpret and share those skills when she worked in grassroots communities. She is currently studying for her ASL interpreting certification.
