Mike is a native of Texas who has done many things in his life. Mike is currently a Professor at Gallaudet, and during his tenure here, has served as an interim provost, a budget director for the Division of Academic Affairs and is now a director of special projects for the Provost. Before coming to Gallaudet, Mike was a professor at Southwest Collegiate Institute for the Deaf (SWCID), served as program specialist for Texas Association for the Deaf, and worked as a chemist for both Ling-Temco-Vought (LTV)Aeronautics and Shirco, Inc.. While Mike was a student at Gallaudet, he held several positions in Student Body Government and was an active member of Alpha Sigma Pi fraternity as well as Sophomore Class President. Mike has served on various committees throughout his life from being on the permanent Class of 1968 reunion committee, serving as a convention chairperson for Texas Association for the Deaf, as a president and a board member on Dallas Association of the Deaf, a vice-chairperson for Maryland Association of the Deaf convention committee, a delegate for National Association of the Deaf, a president for Coalition of Texas Organizations Serving the Deaf, the first board chair of the Maryland Governor's Advisor Board for Telecommunications Relay, a board member for both Metro Washington Deaf Community Center, and American Chemical Society's Chemists and Disabilities.
