Lillie Ransom is a life-time learner and teacher. Everything she does professionally, in the community, and in her personal life centers in spirituality, learning and teaching. This spiritual- teaching-learning orientation has opened many doors, leads to exciting interactions, as well as occasionally presents her with the challenge of trying not to juggle too many balls at once. Ransom became hearing* in 1975 when she began learning sign language and learning about the D/deaf community. Since 1975, everything Ransom has participated in, accomplished, or done includes awareness of hearing privilege and the desire to influence/alter situations/environments to become more inclusive of D/deaf people and D/deaf perspectives.

Lillie's hobbies include reading, watching and critiquing movies, taking long walks, traveling, having deep discussions with family and friends, women's basketball, and serving and/or donating to her church and select non-profit organizations.
