Short Biography
Diana Markel, a GIS Staff Interpreter since 1998, holds a NIC Master certification, a Specialist Certificate: Legal (SC:L) and has been RID certified (CSC) since 1985. She received her AA in Interpreting from Gallaudet in 1983 and her BA in Criminal Justice from the University of Baltimore in 1997. She credits The Bicultural Center (TBC), the Colonomos Model and NAD Youth Leadership Camp (YLC) for her abilities in interpreting. Diana's areas of expertise include legal, medical and community interpreting.
On a personal level, Diana and her husband, Allen ’01, try to keep pace with their children’s (Elan, Ariel and Ksenia) busy schedules. Their newest addition is an adorable Wheaten Terrier, Coda.
