Short Biography
Ellen has been interpreting professionally since 1995. She holds Specialist Certificate: Legal (SC:L), Certificate of Interpretation (CI), Certificate of Transliteration (CT) and NIC Master. Ellen has a Bachelor's degree from the University of Rochester, where the interdisciplinary curriculum she created (called "Language, Communication, and Culture in the Deaf Community") later became the foundation for an established ASL major. Ellen's areas of expertise include administrative/business interpreting, legal interpreting, and conference interpreting. She has also been a strong leader in the Jewish Deaf community, and has been exploring various avenues toward creating Judaic/Hebrew translations.
