In the General Studies Program, Dr. Rach coordinates the assessment program, and works with faculty on program and course improvement using assessment data. Her interest and certification in using the Bar-On EQ Emotional Intelligence instrument has enabled her to facilitate the EQ assessment within the GS program, and the FYS class, GSR 101 specifically.
Dr. Rach planned and implemented the General Studies 4th week course and peer feedback mechanism which now requires all instructors/faculty members teaching GSR to collect and use data from peers and students early in the semester in order to facilitate timely course planning that meets the needs of current students.
She enjoys chatting with colleagues about teaching, reading books about teaching, reading other great books both fiction and non-fiction, and spending time with her family in Silver Spring, Maryland.
