Robbie Jane Carmichael has worked with Deaf as a teacher, coach, and director since 1981. She has been a physical education instructor at Model Secondary School for the Deaf and School of Preparatory Studies at Northwest Campus. She has also been a summer recreation director, field hockey assistant coach, and women's tennis coach at Gallaudet University.
Currently, Ms. Carmichael is an assistant professor at the Department of Physical Education and Recreation at Gallaudet University. In addition, she is an assistant aquatic director and advisor for students majoring in Recreation and Leisure Studies.
