Short Biography
Madan M. Vasishta was born in India and came to Gallaudet in 1967 for studies. He received his B.A. (1971), M.A. (1973), and Ph.D. (1983) from Gallaudet University. Vasishta has worked as a teacher, supervisor, program evaluator, principal, assistant superintendent and superintendent in several schools around the United States. He has published pioneering work in the form of four books on Indian Sign Language and has penned more than 30 articles and book chapters. He has also made over 50 presentations at national and international conferences.
