- B.A., Gallaudet University, 2010
Patrick hails from Illinois—the “Land of Lincoln”. All of Patrick's family members are hearing but they learned sign language when it was discovered that he was deaf so he grew up in an environment where both spoken English and American Sign Language were used. This communication exposure and freedom led to his decision to attend Gallaudet University and to major in Communication Studies. Patrick graduated with honors in May 2010.
In addition to his academic pursuits, Patrick wrote for the student newspaper The Buff and Blue, he was a dorm Resident Advisor, and he worked for the Office of Campus Activities as a student manager and as a Student Organizations assistant. He was a member of several student organizations including the Kappa Sigma fraternity. In spring of 2004, Patrick also served as Master of Ceremonies for the Miss Deaf Washington, D.C. pageant.
Patrick has a thirst for knowledge and loves to explore new and different things from trying an unfamiliar new food on the menu to hopping on a plane, train or bus to an exotic location. He hopes to someday face and overcome his fear of heights.
"I look forward to meeting you on a tour of the campus soon! Let me know if you have any questions about the tours or about our splendid University!"
