GSA OFFICERS

[GSA PRESIDENT] [GSA VICE PRESIDENT] [GSA SECRETARY] [GSA TREASURER]

GSA PRESIDENT
Danielle Previ

Dani PreviCiao! My name is Dani Previ and I am from New Jersey.  I am a first year clinical psychology student and aim to do clinical work with deaf and hard of hearing children once I obtain my Ph.D. in clinical Psychology.  I enjoy playing sports; especially lacrosse. I love being a beach bum and I am an avid reader.  I am a Philadelphia Eagles fan so I bleed green and I am loyal to my eagles  As your GSA president I want you all to know that I am working towards meeting the goals for improving the graduate community.  I would like to see a better collaboration between the each of the graduate departments by intertwining each department's research and professional development together.

GSA VICE PRESIDENT
Colleen Caverly

Colleen CaverlyMy name is Colleen Caverly. I was born and raised in Michigan, but between my undergraduate and graduate career here at Gallaudet, I am starting to call the DC/MD/VA area home. I do, however, maintain loyalty to Michigan sports teams, so if you are a fellow Tigers, Red Wings, or Lions fan, feel free to say "hi!" although that invitation is extended to everyone else as well (unless you're an Ohio fan). I am currently a Clinical Psychology student, hoping to one day obtain my Ph.D. and embark in the world of academia and research. I am a nerd at-heart and would love to spend my days reading, if given the chance. A personal favorite writer is Maya Angelou, who is also the author of my favorite quote, "We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty."

GSA SECRETARY
J. Magen Otwell

Magen OtwellHello!  My name is Jennifer Magen Otwell.  My family and friends call me Magen.  I’m from Atlanta, GA.  In 2010, I moved to DC to attend Gallaudet University in order to earn my Ed.S. degree.  I graduated May 2011.  August 2011 I began my Ph.D. studies in ‘The Critical Studies of the Education of the Deaf Learner.’  My program is three years long and I’m focusing on multicultural education. My plan is to graduate in 2014. (Fingers crossed).  After graduation I would like to do three things (in no particular order): (1) write children’s books, (2) teach at a university, and (3) continue research. In addition to my studies and GSA, I work for Residence Life as a Graduate Assistant.  I enjoy making jewelry and reading.  If you see me around, please introduce yourself.  :)
