Virtual Private Network
Gallaudet provides the campus community with the ability to connect to the Gallaudet network remotely from off campus, such as in your home or hotel that you are staying in.
In order to connect with the Gallaudet University network, you need to authenticate using your Gallaudet username and password through a website. The technology is called SSL VPN, or also known as secure virtual private network.
During the SSL VPN connection process the system may perform security validation checks on your computer to ensure that you are running the latest anti-virus software, etc. The validation checks are performed to protect the Gallaudet University network.
If you desire to connect to the Gallaudet network from off-campus, please follow the instructions depending on the operating system that you have:
You must be a member of one of the following groups in order to access Gallaudet VPN: 1) Gallaudet Faculty (including Adjuncts), 2) Gallaudet or Clerc Center Staff, 3) Gallaudet Students, 4) Clerc Center Teachers. Other users who are not part of the groups listed will need to submit a helpdesk ticket in order to obtain access the VPN system.
