President Alan Hurwitz, First Lady Vicki Hurwitz, and eight Gallaudet students volunteered to work for the annual Habitat for Humanity Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project 2010 in Washington, D.C.  The volunteers joined the Carters in Ivy City, a neighborhood close to the Gallaudet campus. Six homes were to be built and six additional homes rehabilitated.
