On September 27, Rotary Day 2011, District Governor Claude Morissette, Scholarship Committee chair Pat Kasuda, and Rotary officials Don Walter and Charlie Garlow attend a luncheon celebrating twelve Gallaudet students who received scholarships for the 2011-2012 academic year from Rotary District 7620.
The annual event, held in Peikoff Alumni House, is a luncheon program where Rotarians from the district award scholarships and meet the recipients. Since 1974, District 7620, which includes Rotary clubs in central Maryland and Washington, D.C., have provided scholarships that have helped more than 250 students earn degrees at Gallaudet.
Also attending the luncheon were President Hurwitz and special guest Mario Jaramillo, Rotarian and ambassador of the Republic of Panama.
