Funding Opportunities
The Gallaudet Research Institute provides funding to faculty, staff, and students in order to encourage and facilitate research at Gallaudet University. A 4-page summary of the funds available is now available:
Small Research Grants
The Small Research Grants Program (SRG) fosters research activity by Gallaudet and Clerc Center faculty and staff, as well as University students, by supporting studies with small funding requirements and duration of a year or less. For student applications, the faculty advisor and/or the student's dissertation committee is considered to have primary responsibility for ensuring the quality of the research. The Fund accepts proposals for studies on any topic of academic significance using any accepted research method. The limit of funding per proposal is up to $2,5000 for students and up to $5,000 for faculty and staff members.

Priority Research Fund
The Gallaudet Priority Research Fund (PRF) is designed to support research studies throughout the campus in areas that have been determined to be of high importance to the University. After much discussion in 2007, Gallaudet University produced a set of thirteen research priorities. CLICK HERE to see Gallaudet 's research priorities.
Before you apply for a Priority Research grant, please pursue outside sources of funding. The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP), using its tools such as the Community of Science, can assist in your search for funding sources. If you are awarded a Priority grant, there is an expectation that you apply for external funding within a year of the end of your Priority grant. During the period of your Priority grant, if you are fortunate to be awarded an external grant for the same study, we will work with you to consider expanding the study to advance your research objectives and so there is not duplication.
