Article V - University Faculty, GSC Committee Participation, and Ad Hoc
Section 1. The GSC has a non-voting seat as senator-at-large on the university faculty. A representative nominated by the chair and confirmed by the GSC should occupy the position. The senator-at-large from the GSC shall serve for the duration of their term on the GSC, up to a maximum of two years.
5.1.1 Ad Hoc committees as appropriate, and
5.1.2 Faculty Governance.
Section 2. The GSC has seats on the university-wide committees. The chair shall appoint representatives to serve on the following University committees:
5.2.1 University Budget Committee,
5.2.2 Gallaudet Search Committee (President/Provost), and
5.2.3 Parking Committee.
Section 3. The GSC may form Ad Hoc Committees by a two-thirds majority vote. Ad Hoc committee may have staff members who are not GSC members serve on them, based on special expertise, interest, or representation.
5.3.1 When an Ad Hoc committee is established, the specific goal or task to be completed by the committee and the prescribed time frame in which it is to be completed must be defined as stated below (5.3.3).
5.3.2 The Ad Hoc committees are expected to provide reports at the GSC meetings.
5.3.3. If Ad Hoc committees fail to do their responsibilities as assigned, the following consequences are listed in this order as stated below:
a) The first infraction shall result in a written warning from the executive officer outlining the issue and an explanation of next steps;
b) The second infraction shall result in a removal of responsibility
