Course Textbook
Participants will need to purchase one human genetics textbook. These books are also often available in libraries at some universities or colleges or medical facilities. One of the following textbooks can be used. You only need to purchase one book:
Human Heredity: Principles and Issues (8th Ed. or later) by Michael R. Cummings, Brooks/Cole Publishers.
Human Genetics: Concepts and Applications (9th Ed. or later) by Ricki Lewis, McGraw Hill Publishers.
Advance Readings:
Before you begin the program, you may want to review selected readings from one of the two recommended textbooks. This is to familiarize you with basic genetic concepts and is especially helpful for those who have never studied genetics in school. We will build upon these basic concepts during the program.
Human Heredity: Principles and Issues (8th Ed. or later) by Michael R. Cummings
Chapters 1, 2, 3 and 4.
Human Genetics: Concepts and Applications (9th Ed. or later) by Ricki Lewis
Chapters 1, 2, 3 and 4.
