TWO Non Tenure Track Faculty Positions
Gallaudet University
College of Liberal Arts & Sciences
Position contingent on funding
The Department of ASL & Deaf Studies within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Gallaudet University invites applications for TWO full time NON Tenure Track positions with the General Studies Requirements (GSR) and ASL components of the Department beginning Winter 2012.
Qualifications:
1. Has experience and demonstrated excellence in teaching ASL and Deaf Studies;
2. Has ability to work with a diverse population, especially emerging signers;
3. Strong preference given to those with MA from an accredited university in a closely related field such as Sign Language Teaching; Deaf Studies; Linguistics
4. Has extensive knowledge of the linguistic structure of both ASL and English;
5. Is fluent in ASL and in written English;
6. Intimate and extensive Deaf-World experiences
7. ASLPI of 4 and/or SLPI: ASL of Superior-Superior Plus
Responsibilities:
1. Teach GSR 103
2. Teach ASL 101/102
3. Conduct curriculum revisions
4. Conduct assessment
5. Participate in department and program meetings
Compensation:
Nine months academic year
Start date: January 2013
