General Information: The Department of Hearing Speech & Language Sciences seeks faculty applicants committed to teaching graduate Speech Language Pathology courses. Candidates must demonstrate potential for competency in teaching, scholarship/research, and service. Fluency in sign language communication is highly desirable. Applicants who are not fluent must be willing to learn. Rank and salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. The appointment will be nine months for the academic year beginning August 17, 2011. Position is contingent on funding.

Qualifications:

An earned doctorate in Speech Language Pathology or closely related field. Candidate must possess content knowledge in a range of areas that might include: organic disorders of speech and language, research, dysphagia, neurogenics, diagnostics, voice, fluency, autism and AAC. Candidates should demonstrate competence in teaching, scholarship, and a commitment to service. Candidates must also demonstrate strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities:

Candidate will be expected to teach courses in Speech Language Pathology and other courses supported by the Department of Hearing Speech and Language Sciences. Candidates will advise students in the major, supervise students in the Hearing and Speech Center and work collaboratively with faculty members and clinical educators. Candidates will be expected to engage in scholarship and/or research in the field. Candidates will be expected to participate in department and university faculty activities and professional service. Grant writing and/or other department responsibilities may be assigned.
