The Gallaudet University Department of Hearing, Speech, and Language Sciences is made up of three degree programs - a master's degree in speech-language pathology, an AuD in Audiology and a PhD in Audiology. Additionally, we have the Hearing and Speech Center which is comprised of three clinical service teams - The Speech Language (SLP) team, the Aural Rehabilitation (AR) Team and the Clinical Audiology (CAT) team. Each team provides an array of services to the campus and the metropolitan community.
The Gallaudet University Hearing and Speech Center offers speech and language assessment and therapy services. All services are provided by graduate students under the supervision of certified speech, language and hearing professionals. We offer Diagnostic Speech and Language Evaluations at our Clinic on Friday Mornings. A limited number of spaces are still available for the Fall Semester. The cost is $175.00. We also offer therapy services - 2 times per week for 50 minute sessions. Each session of therapy costs $40.00. This Fall we will also offer a Language Stimulation Group for kodas – the dates, times and eligibility will be determined by the interest of families and the ages of the participants. Our clinic is open from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm and we are located conveniently on the Gallaudet University campus near the New York Avenue metro stop (shuttle to campus is available). The Hearing and Speech Center has a commitment to the DC community and to providing accessible services - a sliding scale is available to those who qualify. The Center is also dedicated to providing bias-free services.
