Name: Rani Alameh Country: Lebanon Field of Study: Graphic Design |
My name is Rani Alameh. I was born in Beirut, Lebanon in 1978. I am currently a senior at Gallaudet University majoring in Graphic Design and will be graduating in May 2010. My goal is to graduate successfully, learn all I can from Gallaudet, and apply my knowledge to the real world. I hope to apply my Graphic Design skills in a fun and rewarding job and gradually improve those skills. I want to be able to be a successful, contributing member of society like everyone else. I also want to be able to help other deaf students in my community. The Sasakawa Scholarship has helped me in pursuing these goals.
My Sasakawa Scholarship project was to contribute to the World Deaf Information Resource Project http://cips.gallaudet.edu/site-map.xml. This is a major project undertaken by the Center for International Program and Services. This website can help you find contact information for international-, national-, and local-level deaf organizations in about 150 countries. You also can find information resources of interest to deaf individuals, deaf organizations, and others who work with them. My tasks were to collect information on resources for deaf people and deaf organizations in Lebanon.
