Charge
- Develop and recommend to the UF Senate policies regarding the orientation and special programs for undergraduate and graduate students;
- Develop and recommend to the UF Senate policies regarding academic advisement for all students; Page 11 of the University Faculty Bylaws, Amended April 28, 2008
- Develop and recommend to the UF Senate policies regarding the presentation of honors and prizes to members of the UF;
- Confer with the appropriate legislative council when developing policies and procedures within the purview of the respective council; and
- Review and decide on requests for reinstatement from any undergraduate student who has been academically suspended and who wishes to be readmitted to school before the time specified by the Academic Suspension Policy, as stated in the Gallaudet University Undergraduate Catalog.
- Work closely with the Student Body Government to identify ways to enhance faculty/student interaction as well as identify issues of mutual concern.
- At the beginning of each academic year, the chair of this committee shall contact the President of the SBG and request that one (1) undergraduate student be appointed to serve on the committee for a period of one (1) year. Student participation is on a non-voting, advisory basis. Due to the nature of specific agenda items, the student representative may be excused from participation at the committee’s discretion.
