New Signers Program

New Signers Program

The JumpStart: New Signers Program is designed for new undergraduate students who are unfamiliar with the predominantly deaf cultural signing environment of Gallaudet University. The New Signers Program provides opportunities for these students to improve their American Sign Language skills, to learn about deaf culture and explore their place in this culture, and to develop their peer networking, teambuilding, and leadership skills. In addition, the program exposes these students to the institution's educational opportunities by integrating new students into the intellectual, cultural, and social climate of the university.

Department/Program:  JumpStart: New Signers Program, under Student Affairs' Orientation Programs.
