Hello All,
A. . OIR Data: Reminder: If you have questions about the data provided by the Office of Institutional Research contact Daryl Frelich. Daryl is GU's Institutional Data Administrator. OIR anticipates having all institutionally available data in templates in the next day or two.
B. GSR and Service Courses:
We’ve received questions about components within departments that are allocated to GSR (e.g, faculty teaching GSR courses). We’ve received similar questions about Service courses (i.e., courses taught by the Dept in which more than 50% of students are from outside the programs in the Dept. ). Note that all Departments that each Dept that has contributed or allocated faculty for the teaching of GSR courses during the past three years should have a GSR template. Same applies for SERVICE courses (if you don’t have that template please contact Linda.Lancaster@gallaudet.edu).
GSR: GSR itself is also providing data in the PP Data Template. The question from Chairs and Program Directors is: What information should we provide about our contribution to GSR (via your template labeled GSR?
The following components should be completed:
- At a minimum: 6.2 : Average FTE taught (in GSR) per faculty
Some Chairs have said they also would like to include information on their contribution to GSR in other areas of the template such as
- and 1.2 (with "program" meaning "contribution to GSR")
- 3.1, 3.3
- 9.1a, 9.1b
SERVICE Course Component:
Since you are providing these courses as a service to other Depts, you will answer some of the questions with NA. For example: 3.2d re recruitment. As with the data indicators listed above (e.g., 1.2, 3.1, 9.1a), the goal is to describe the contribution this “program” or segment of your Dept. makes to the university as a whole.
