Dear Department Chairs,
Members of the Program Prioritization Task Force just concluded a meeting that focused primarily on the issues raised at yesterday's open forum. Thursday's forum discussion was collegial and helpful for those of us on the PPTF as it helped us understand the issues facing Chairs and Program Directors as they attempt to respond to the questions asked in the templates. Our thanks go to Susan King for compiling the attached notes of the meeting, and to Robert Harrison for his helpful feedback on some of the details. Given that this is the first time in a long time - if ever - that such a task has been attempted at Gallaudet, it should perhaps be no surprise that several glitches occurred as we started to work our way through the templates.
We are continuing to review and develop plans for addressing the many issues raised at that forum, but one immediate response that we can make is to let you know that we have decided to extend the time to complete the templates until May 14, 2010 at 1 p.m. Doing this will not only give everyone more time to gather information and review it for accuracy, it will also allow PPTF to fix most of the issues that have been brought to our attention including those regarding the templates. Keep in mind that the Office of Institutional Research staff will continue to work with you and help you with your data needs.
More changes will be made, and specific guidance on filling out the templates will be sent out along with the snippets next Wednesday.
Thank you for your patience through this process.
Sincerely,
Pat Hulsebosch and Khadijat Rashid
Co-Chairs, for the Program Prioritization Task Force
