Kota Takayama

Kota Takayama was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan.  Before Kota came to Gallaudet University, he had been working as a clinical psychologist with deaf and hard of hearing children in Tokyo. Kota was dissatisfied with his clinical practice skills and decided to come to Gallaudet to improve his skills and advance his career.

Kota is now working as an instructor for social work/audiology students at Tokai University.  He has provided clinical services for deaf and hard of hearing and their families in schools in Tokyo. Kota is on the Board of Trustees of the Japanese Association of Social Workers for Deaf and Hard of Hearing and supports many deaf students who want to become social workers in near future.
