A Tutor is not a substitute for your teacher. You are expected to attend class regularly. For tutoring sessions read your textbook and complete as much of your homework as possible. Tutorial & Instructional Programs staff will send you an email (we only use Gallaudet email addresses) with your name, the Tutor's name, the name of course, your assigned tutoring days, time, room assignment and tutoring start date. You are required to come to the TIP lab in JSAC 1221 to meet your Tutor and sign in and out of all sessions.
6. Why do we have to sign in?
The Tutorial & Instructional Programs budget has to be justified by how well our services are used. The sign-in process helps us keep good records of usage of our services. In addition, the sign-in numbers tell us how students most use TIP so that we can make changes and better serve you.
7. What should I do if I don't like my Tutor?
You should come in and discuss the situation with a TIP supervisor.
8. I need accommodations, what do I do?
Inform the staff during the intake interview that you will need accommodations and explain the kind of accommodations needed.
