Residence Hall Staff
The director of Residence Life and Housing administers the overall aspects of the Office of Residence Life and Housing. The program manager serves as an assistant to the director in all aspects of Residence Life operations. The housing operations manager oversees all aspects of University housing assignments, visitor's housing, and commencement housing, including room contracts, initial room assignments, room billings, and room waivers. The executive secretary oversees the message center and front desk operations at Residence Life.
There are six coordinators of residence education (CREs) who work in their satellite offices in their respective residence halls. A coordinator of residence education is a Residence Life professional staff member with the overall administrative responsibility of residence hall and budget management, student discipline, and paraprofessional program coordination. The overall goal of the CRE is to facilitate the development of community living among residents.
Residence Life is also staffed by one team leader and six staff residential assistants and more than 75 graduate and undergraduate student paraprofessionals. Additionally, Residence Life runs several student paraprofessional programs such as the Graduate Assistant (GA), Resident Advisor (RA), Office Assistant (OA), and the Front Desk Assistant (FDA) programs.
Resident advisors (RA) are student paraprofessionals who assist the CRE in the residence hall office of their residence halls and work closely with residents on their respective floors. The RA also helps students with personal concerns, assists in the development of programs and activities, and monitors building maintenance.
The central office is located in Ely Center, Room 132.
