The University's food services are provided by Bon Appetit Management Company. All students who live on campus are required to participate in the University Meal Program. Students who live off campus may participate in the Meal Program if they wish. There are five different meal plans that include options at Cafe Bon Appetit in the Plaza Dining Hall, the Market Place, and the Rathskellar, both in the Student Union Building. Dining dollars are accepted at the Bistro in the Kellogg Conference Hotel, and the Java Corner in the Student Academic Center. Additional Dining Dollars can be purchased through your Bison Account. Students should select a meal plan online during Business Registration. Students who do not select a meal plan during Business Registration will be assigned the 100 Block Plan. Special dietary plans can usually be arranged for those students who need them by contacting the Food Service Manager.
Commuter students wishing to dine on campus can purchase "Dining Dollars" via their Bison Account. Dining Dollars can be used at all food service locations. With a purchase of $150 to start, an additional 15% is added. Dining Dollars are non-refundable and transfer from semester to semester, they do not expire.
We encourage you to read the meal plan options carefully and make your selection during Business Registration. One block is equal to one meal. If you were to choose the 220 block meal plan, you would have 220 meals for the semester. The Plaza Dining Hall is an all you can eat facility, all of the time. You will swipe your ID to enter and will be charged one block. You will use a block each time you enter the dining hall. The Rathskellar offers a block meal for lunch and dinner. There are several options to choose from the menu, but it is not all you can eat. The 190 bock meal plan is the most popular plan. If you are uncertain which meal plan to choose, you can always contact Sherri Necessary, at email@example.com, she will work with you to select the best meal plan based on your eating habits. Meal Plans can be upgraded throughout the semester, just simply send an email to Sherri. The deadline for downgrading your meal plan is the last day of Business Registration, which is usually on the Friday after classes start each semester.
