The 2013 Academic Bowl for Deaf and Hard of Hearing High School Students was a smashing success with Maryland School for the Deaf taking the coveted National championship trophy for a record fourth consecutive year.
For the 2013-2014 school year, the Regional Academic Bowl competitions will be held at the following sites:
Northeast: Rochester School for the Deaf (December 5-8)
Midwest: Michigan School for the Deaf (December 12-15)
West: California School for the Deaf, Riverside (February 14-17)
Southeast: Georgia School for the Deaf (February 20-23)
Southwest: Texas School for the Deaf (February 27-March 2)
Gallaudet University established the Academic Bowl in 1997. The competition consists of a question and answer game of general knowledge and quick recall. Questions are drawn from the following categories: Social Studies; Language and Literature; Science and Technology; Mathematics; The Arts; Deaf Studies; Current Events; and Pop Culture, Leisure, and Sports.
