Mission Statement

The Center for Continuing Studies (CCS) supports Gallaudet University’s mission to ensure the intellectual and professional advancement of deaf and hard of hearing individuals.

CCS strives to achieve this mission by 1) providing a comprehensive array of exemplary personal and professional development courses, programs, and services designed to promote career development, advocacy and leadership abilities, personal enrichment, and other life-long learning skills, and 2) establishing collaborative relationships and partnership with individuals and agencies dedicated to enhancing the education, well-being, and leadership development of deaf and hard of hearing people, and the individuals, agencies and organizations that provide services to them. CCS courses, programs, and services are designed for deaf and hard of hearing individuals, their families and communities, and professionals working with them.
