Payment Procedures and Types
Full payment is required to complete your registration. Payment may be made by check, credit card (VISA and MasterCard) or money order. Purchase orders are also accepted.

Tuition Waivers 
Gallaudet employees should refer to section 3.14 of the Gallaudet University Administration and Operations manual to determine eligibility. Eligible applicants should complete an application and submit it with an approved waiver form. Please note that a tuition waiver does not exclude you from paying the application, unit, and material fees. The waiver covers only tuition and lab fees and is not applicable for non-credit courses of a recreational or leisure nature.

VR/Employer-Paid Tuition
If your tuition will be paid by VR or your employer, the appropriate paperwork must be received to complete your application. Instructions as to how our office is to bill the authorizing agent must also be included.

Financial Aid
Financial Aid is not available for students who are not enrolled in a degree program at Gallaudet University.

Processing Fee (Per Semester)

The $30 processing fee is non-refundable. Fee is waived for Gallaudet faculty, staff, and currently enrolled Gallaudet undergraduate and graduate students.

Certificate Program Application Fee
Students applying to PST Certificate Program must pay a one time $75 non-refundable application fee.

Other Fees
Check under each course description for test, material or lab fees.

Late Application Fee
An additional late fee of $50 is charged on all registrations received in our office after the registration deadline, which is two weeks prior to the start of class.

Returned Check Fee
A returned check fee of $50 is charged when a check is returned for non-payment. Payment must then be made by money order or credit card.

Adding or Dropping Courses
There is a $5 fee for each add or drop transaction (unless a department has made the decision to change your course).

Refund requests must be submitted in writing to the Center for Continuing Studies by the registration deadline for the class, otherwise no refund will be issued. Processing and material fees are not refundable. Full refunds are automatically processed for courses canceled by the University. Refunds may take up to four weeks to process.  

Parking Permits

Parking permits for part-time Professional Studies students during the fall/spring semesters are $10 (see General Information for parking regulations). During the summer parking permits is $3 per week or $20 for the entire summer. You are responsible for obtaining a parking permit from the Department of Public Safety (DPS) upon your arrival.  All unregistered or illegally parked vehicles will be ticketed. The temporary vehicle registration form is  available online, or one may be obtained at the Department of Public Safety in Carlin Hall.

Student Identification Cards (Students registering for PST prefixed classes only)
Identification cards are $15 and are issued by the Department of Public Safety (DPS) located on the ground floor of Carlin Hall. Your identification card should be carried with you at all times while on campus.  ID cards not only assist in maintaining security, they also enable you to take advantage of many services and facilities on campus.

Room Fees (summers only)

Room assignments are made on a first-come, first-served basis. Students may choose between single or double occupancy. Due to the limited number of available single rooms, there is no guarantee that a request for a single room can be honored. If you do not make a selection on the housing form, you will be placed in a double occupancy room. There is a one time linen fee of $13.00. Only individuals registered for summer programs, 18 years or older or high school graduates, may request individual dormitory housing (no exceptions). No family housing is available.  Check out housing/meal plans for more information.

An alternative to residence hall accommodations is the Kellogg Conference Hotel at Gallaudet University. They can be reached at (202) 651-6000 or you can make reservations online.

Meal Plan
Meal plan options are available to any student registering for a course through the Center for Continuing Studies (CCS).  Commuter students may also elect to purchase a meal at the dining hall or through the Summer Programs office in Kendall Hall. 

Meal cards are not transferable and are valid until the expiration date shown on your card. The cards cannot be used to purchase food at the Bison Shop, Market Place, or Kellogg Conference Hotel Bistro. Unused meals do not carry over to the next week.
