Announcement - May 10

Dear Campus Community:

See above to view this letter in American Sign Language.

We would like to share the latest update with you regarding the search for Vice President of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, also known as the Chief Diversity Officer (CDO).

First, we would like to recognize the search committee's wonderful service and support throughout the search process, and the many hours they spent on the process.

We also would like to acknowledge all three finalist candidates for coming to campus to meet with and interact with Gallaudet faculty, students, and staff, and Clerc Center teachers and staff. We thank the candidates for their time and sharing their vision for the position.

Additionally, we want to thank you all in the community for coming to the presentations and for sharing feedback, which is a critical part of the process.

The search committee has collected input from everyone and summarized each candidate's strengths, weaknesses/learning curves, and anticipated support that the candidate would need to succeed if selected for the position. All of these summaries have been shared with President Cordano.

President Cordano will provide an update sometime this summer.

Sincerely,
Gaurav Mathur
Dean of the Graduate School and Continuing Studies
