The Global Education and Scholars Services (GESS) department offers a broad range of opportunities for students, faculty and professionals at Gallaudet University to apply their knowledge and learning on an international scale. A large part of our work is developing and coordinating exciting study abroad programs in locations such as Brazil, China and Peru.
Our department also provides unique opportunities for non-degree students, scholars, and professionals from other countries who wish to come for short-term studies, conduct research, or enhance their educational opportunities by taking advantage of Gallaudet University's notable resources on Deaf culture.
Note: Our office works primarily with those who are here under a J-1 or J-2 Visa Status. If you are in the United States with an F-1 Visa Status, you will be working with the International Student Services department.
