Clerc Center to Recognize Red Ribbon Week

 Red Ribbon Week at KDES
KDES kicks off Red Ribbon Week with a rally on Tuesday, October 27, to be followed by a variety of educational activities related to the theme of “Planting the Promise.”

  • Wednesday, October 28—Kick-off and Backwards Day (Turn Your Back on Drugs”)
  • Thursday, October 29—Honoring of Enrique Camerena, a marine and police officer who fought the drug industry, and Dress Tie or Bowtie Day (“Tie Down Drugs”)
  •  Friday, October 30—Planting seeds of nurture/promising to be drug and alcohol free (pre-kindergarten and kindergarten); drug awareness activity and Planting the Promise (grades one and two); and Scavenger Hunt, “Numb Hands” activity, and Planting the Promise (grades three through eight)

Red Ribbon Week at MSSD
MSSD kicks off Red Ribbon Week with an assembly on Tuesday, October 27, at 8:30 a.m. in the Theatre Malz, where students will participate in a mini-workshop about a drug-free school. Students can show their Red Ribbon spirit throughout the week:

  • Wednesday, October 28—Backwards Day (“Turn Your Back on Drugs”)
  • Thursday, October 29—Necktie or Bowtie Day (“Tie Down Drugs”)
  • Friday, October 30—Wear Red and/or Boots Day (“Show Your Drug-Free Spirit and Give Drugs the Boot”)
