Curious George Joins the Shared Reading Project Book Bag Library

Since 1995, the Clerc Center's popular Shared Reading Project (SRP) has been helping to teach parents and caregivers how to read to their deaf and hard of hearing children using American Sign Language. SRP book bags are offered individually and in group sets.

Each Shared Reading Project book bag group of ten books contains a mixture of ten pre-selected stories at different reading levels for children from birth to eight years old, except Group E, which is a collection of board books for infants to four-year-olds.  No substitutions, please.

Each Shared Reading book bag includes:

  • Storybook
  • DVD of the story signed in American Sign Language
  • Activity guide with ideas related to the story
  • Bookmark: "Tips for reaading to Your Deaf Child"

Group L includes the titles listed below.  If you would like to purchase any of these bookbags individually, please click on a title.
