15 Principles for Reading to Deaf Children
Based on research on how Deaf parents read to their Deaf children, these principles were developed to give parents and teachers of deaf children skills and strategies for reading aloud in American Sign Language (ASL). The 15 principles are presented here in ASL with English or Spanish translations.

Literacy—It All Connects (LIAC)
LIAC is a free, self-paced, on-line course that provides an overview of the components of a comprehensive and balanced literacy program for deaf and hard of hearing students from preschool through high school.

Shared Reading Project: Curious George Bookbags
Each Shared Reading Project book bag group of ten books contains a mixture of ten pre-selected stories at different reading levels for children from birth to eight years old, except Group E, which is a collection of board books for infants to four-year-olds.  No substitutions, please.

Translations
VL2 Web Briefs—Now Available in English, Spanish, and Mandarin!
Due to popular demand, Gallaudet University’s Science of Learning Center on Visual Language and Visual Learning (VL2) research briefs have been translated into Mandarin and Chinese. These briefs are now available on the Laurent Clerc National Deaf Education Center’s website.
Clerc Center Collaboration with American Society for Deaf Children
The Clerc Center collaborated with the American Society for Deaf Children to provide Spanish and Mandarin translations to their publication, Sign Language use for Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Hearing Babies: The Evidence Supports It. What was previously only online is now available as a colorful brochure ready to share with families in three languages.
