Getting Started: Finding Services

Each state provides services for families of deaf and hard of hearing babies and children. We list three places you can search by state, below:

  • Info to Go provides lists of state resources that provide information and referral or direct services to deaf and hard of hearing children. They will be able to answer your questions about deafness and related information, or refer you to the most appropriate organizations and services in your area. This is not a comprehensive list, but rather a starting point to help you identify the different types of services available statewide. The State Office of Special Education provides information about local elementary and secondary programs for deaf and hard of hearing students. Info to Go: Resources for Families
  • The Early Hearing Detection & Intervention (EHDI) Program, from the United States Department of Health and Human Services, lets you find EHDI materials in your state. EHDI Program
  • The National Dissemination Center for Children with Disabilities (NICHCY) allows you to search by state for resources designed to help families of children with disabilities. NICHCY State-specific Resources
