Educational Technology Workshops

Teaching with Digital Media
For K-12 Educators of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students
(Three- to five-day workshop)

Teaching with Digital Media provides teachers of deaf and hard of hearing students with the skills necessary to use technology to create instructional projects. Participants will create a digital media project that incorporates video, images, text, and audio (if appropriate) using Adobe Premiere Elements video editing software. The workshop will showcase some examples and introduce various Web 2.0 tools (Delicious, Flickr, Jing, and more) and hardware (Smart Board, camcorders, and webcams) that support technology integration in your classroom. During the hands-on sessions, participants will learn some basic techniques for making and manipulating digital media, and learn ways to enrich their teaching with digital media. Participants will also explore some ideas for developing digital media assignments for their students. They will acquire new skills and a video that will complement their teaching. All work will be done on the Windows platform.
