KDES and MSSD Recommended for Full Accreditation
Over the past 18 months, Kendall Demonstration Elementary School (KDES) and the Model Secondary School for the Deaf (MSSD), the demonstration schools of the Laurent Clerc National Deaf Education Center, have been conducting a self-study as part of the process of applying for reaccreditation. This self-study culminated with a site visit by teams from the two accrediting agencies, the Middle States Association (MSA) and the Conference of Educational Administrators of Schools and Programs for the Deaf (CEASD), from March 28-30.
The Clerc Center is proud to announce that both teams are recommending to their respective organizations that KDES and MSSD be awarded full accreditation. These recommendations are a testament to the dedication of the Clerc Center community to student achievement.
This important milestone marks not an end, but another beginning, to a continuous cycle of self-improvement at KDES and MSSD. The Clerc Center community looks forward to moving forward as a team to continue optimizing educational opportunities for its students.
