KDES Art Gallery Highlights New Work
The new collection of artwork on display at Kendall Demonstration Elementary School (KDES) features work by students of all grades. "The students created waterscapes, cityscapes, nature studies, pattern designs, and self-portraits," said KDES art teacher Wei-Min Shen. The waterscapes and cityscapes are rendered in crayon and watercolor washes. The nature studies feature watercolors of flowers, butterflies and animals. The pattern designs incorporate repeated patterns such as diagonal and horizontal lines, brickwork, triangles, round objects, squares, etc. The self-portraits done in watercolor also include photos of the students taken during the creation process. The gallery is located on the main floor of KDES.
