KDES Students Practice Good Stewardship on Earth Day
Sometimes, the best way to get a feel for Mother Earth is to dig down into the soil. In honor of this year's Earth Day on April 22, Kendall Demonstration Elementary School students and their teachers planted a colorful array of flowers in planters outside the school building.
In another Earth Day activity, students sorted through a large collection of recyclables including items made of plastic, paper, metal, and glass. They learned what items belong in which bin, and which items cannot be recycled. The students also enjoyed another activity where they made art creations out of recycled materials.
Every idea and action we pursue for recycling helps heal and renew the Earth we call home!
